Lone Herdwick Sheep in Winter, Hawkshead, Westmorland
In early January we had a long weekend in Hawkshead, Westmorland. On the Saturday the sun shone and it was perfect, cold but sunny winter's day. As we were walking back to Hawkshead from Latterbarrow I saw this lone Herwick sheltering from the north wind which was icy cold. The sheep probably didn't feel the cold but it made a super photograph, especially in black and white photo.
I took this with my ten year old Leica Q. It's old tech but produces gorgeous photos, especially in black and white. This was one of the first photos purchased when I launched my online gallery in Late January. If you'd like a copy, loose prints start at £45 plus the inevitable postage. You can see other examples in my Lake District collection here.
